Katherine is responsible for CPPIB’s Financial Services private equity investments in Europe. Before joining CPPIB in 2017 as a Senior Principal, Katherine was a Principal at Crestview Partners where she led and managed investments in insurance, speciality finance and business services. Prior to Crestview, Katherine was a Principal in Blackstone’s private equity group, in both New York and London, and invested across a variety of sectors, with a focus on financial services. She previously held positions at Capital Z Partners and Morgan Stanley. She is currently a Non-Executive Director of Ascot Group Limited where she also chairs the Remuneration Committee. She has held previous directorship roles for several financial and business services companies including DS Services, NEP Group, Arxis Capital and Alliant Insurance Services.

Iñaki Echave, who previously represented CPPIB, will remain on the BGL Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director, having left CPPIB to set up his own investment fund. After a period of induction, Iñaki will become the Chair of comparethemarket.com.
Debbie Hewitt, Independent Non-Executive Chairman, said: “I am pleased to welcome Katherine to the BGL Board. Her extensive experience in insurance and financial services on both sides of the Atlantic will prove invaluable as we develop and grow the Group. I am also pleased to see Iñaki Echave take up this Independent Non-Executive role with BGL, reinforcing the strength and depth of the consumer and digital skills on both the BGL and comparethemarket.com Boards.”
