New Digital Marketing Associate Director joins
Former Virgin Atlantic Head of Digital Strategy to enhance online offering, BGL Group’s UK price comparison site, has appointed former Virgin Atlantic Global Head of Digital Strategy, James Shanahan, as its new Digital Marketing Associate Director. James will focus on enhancing’s performance marketing, data and loyalty activities.

Prior to joining James was responsible for creating and executing Virgin Atlantic’s integrated approach to multi-channel acquisition and retention, ecommerce digital properties and customer experience.

On James’ appointment, Mark Vile, Marketing Director at, said: “We are delighted to welcome James to the organisation, he brings with him a wealth of digital marketing experience, both client and agency side. His insight into the global digital environment will be invaluable for us and will help further advance our online offering.”

James spoke about his new role: “My initial focus will be on developing and delivering’s performance marketing, data and loyalty activities, enhancing the brand’s online customer proposition. The opportunity to work within such a nimble, pure play, digital environment, whilst evolving the online offering of this market leading brand is an exciting challenge. I can’t wait to get started.”
