BGL Group extends Sport bash sponsorship
Following the success of last year's Sports Bash BGL extends sponsorship for a further three years
Following the success of last year’s Sport Bash, BGL Group, the major financial services provider, has extended its sponsorship of the event for a further three years.
The Stamford-based sporting spectacle has become an established event in the Rutland social calendar, featuring two days of celebrity cricket, live music, food and drink. Last year, a host of former sporting legends and celebrities, including Harry Potter star James Phelps and former England cricket international Mark Ramprakash, supported the event.
BGL Sport Bash, is organised by former England cricketer and Stamford Endowed Schools Head of Cricket, Dean Headley, who explained: “The idea behind BGL Sport Bash is to raise money for local and national charities through the power of sport. Despite the weather, last year’s event was a huge success. We raised around £40,000 for good causes including Help for Heroes, Matt Hampson Foundation and the Seb Goold Trust. I’m delighted that BGL will be working with us for a further three years.”
BGL’s Chief Executive Matthew Donaldson said: “We are delighted to be continuing our support of the Sport Bash, which is a fantastic event right in the heart of our community. Last year’s event raised much needed funds for very worthy causes and we’re excited to be working with Dean to grow the event. Fingers crossed for a sunny July in 2016!”
