BGL announces Group and Board appointments
Timo Boldt to be appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director for BGL Group and Thomas Chambers appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director for
BGL Group, a leading digital distributor of insurance and household financial services, has announced the appointment of two Independent Non-Executive Directors.

Timo Boldt, who will join the BGL (Holdings) Limited Group Board from 1 September 2020, is the Founder and CEO of recipe box Gousto, which was established in 2012 and is one of Europe’s fastest growing technology companies. 

Timo brings notable experience in building and scaling a high growth, data-led organisation that truly puts the customer at the heart. Gousto is expected to report a significant maiden profit in 2020 and with further investment into technology capabilities, the company is expecting to increase capacity threefold by 2022. 
Prior to founding Gousto, Timo spent most of his career as a hedge fund manager, working latterly with Goldman Sachs Investment Bank. He is proud to have the accolade of being Young Entrepreneur of the Year (GB Entrepreneur Awards) and for Gousto to have been crowned winner of the UK Customer Experience Awards. 

For four years, Timo was a member of the Unilever Digital Advisory Board, and he is currently a Non-Executive Director at Flagstone, a digital scale-up. He holds an Executive MBA from the University of Cambridge and gives guest lectures in digital marketing, data science and technology-related topics.

Thomas Chambers has joined the Board of, and will take up the role of Chair of the Risk and Audit Committee from Mark Allan from 1 September 2020, who will step down from the Board on 10 September 2020 to focus on his expanding CFO executive responsibilities with Brit Insurance. An experienced Non-Executive Director, Thomas has extensive experience in the tech, utility, telecoms and cyber security sectors. He is currently Chair of Propel London Ltd, a leading UK digital new media/marketing/IT recruitment agency, and a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Kings Arms Yard VCT plc, a Venture Capital Trust; Iceni Projects Ltd, a multi discipline planning and development consultancy; and UCAS, the world’s largest central admissions for universities. He has also previously chaired the Board of First Utility (now Shell Energy) and the Audit Committee of NCC Group plc. 

Thomas started his career as an accountant and his most recent executive responsibility was as CFO of Symbian (acquired by Nokia Oyj). Thomas is a Fellow of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants and the Institute of Engineering and Technology.
