Technology strategy, robotic process automation and emerging technology trends. In our latest blog post, Paul Pardoe, Senior Manager Business Architecture, Enterprise Technology and Insight, tells us what it’s like to work in the Enterprise Technology and Insight team at BGL.
“I’ve worked in Enterprise Technology and Insight for four years now and it’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of the team. We’re growing the team and there are so many projects underway to get involved with.
“We’re currently working on identifying opportunities for robotic automation process in our contact centres and other areas of the business, which incorporates technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning to automate routine, high-volume tasks so that we can free up our people to use their skills in more effective ways.
“Being part of the team also gives you the opportunity to work closely with Stuart Walters, Chief Information Officer, and get involved in the Group’s technology strategy and have oversight of key divisional technology and data initiatives.
“Another big part of what we do is to be the eyes and ears of BGL in terms of emerging technologies, researching what’s new and what BGL could explore to benefit the wider business. It’s a really satisfying part of the job, bringing new ideas to the table and seeing those ideas come to fruition and bring benefits to the business.
“To work in this team you need to be analytically minded with a keen interest in technology and how it can be applied to meet business objectives, solve problems and deliver enhanced customer outcomes.”
