BGL’s Business Services team have a fantastic new opportunity for a Wintel Services Analyst to join an established team in our HQ. This role will provide 3rd line technical support for server infrastructure, backup and cloud services across the business. You’ll have the opportunity to work on over 900 virtual servers as well as manage around 70 physical servers, providing BAU support as well as contributing to ad hoc project work.
As a Wintel Services Analyst you’ll identify and resolve server and service issues, following agreed procedures. As part of this role you’ll plan, monitor and support service and service availability to ensure that our IT systems are running at optimal performance which remains consistent across all business areas. Any requests for support are aimed to be resolved within set targets in the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and in compliance with agreed policies and procedures.
Within this role you will take full ownership of BAU user problems and be proactive when dealing with user issues to ensure that any problems are dealt with swiftly and user expectations are met. With all issue investigations, you’ll be required to maintain full documentation which will include updating any repeatable issues in the Knowledge base and feeding your findings back to 1st and 2nd line support.
Working as part of a larger team you will attend daily Stand Ups, contributing your ideas whilst understanding the strategic focus of Business Services.
What will it take?
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 2012 / 2016 / and/or 2019 servers
• Working knowledge of Ubuntu 18:04 LTS server
• Working knowledge of Active Directory
• Excellent soft skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to non-technical users
