What’s the challenge?

Our architecture function is evolving. Formed in the last decade, it has grown significantly over this period, adding high calibre solution architects who are SMEs in specific architectural areas e.g. mobile, data, cloud etc. Every new person who joins the team gets to shape and influence the ongoing development of our function.

We are now hiring for an experienced Solution Architect to be responsible for our customer channels. This is a unique role where your technical knowledge will be used to architect solutions that drive how we engage with customers, such as our Reward propositions, CMS and MyAccount service.

Your passion for creating architectural solutions that positively impact both your internal customers and comparethemarket’s customers will position you well to add value. Engaging with teams that make quick decisions and operate at pace will stimulate you, and you’ll be comfortable enabling them to deliver, whilst always having a view on security, scalability and good governance.

What will it take to be successful?

An experienced solution architect, you will have strong technical background, ideally with hands-on development experience, and be able to express your ideas with clarity, confidence and logical reasoning.

Also, to make a real impact in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience architecting technical solutions in a cloud-based environment
  • Engagement with a broad stakeholder group, both technical and non-technical
  • Experience working with multiple patterns, domains, languages and persistence mechanisms as well as distributed systems
  • Advocacy of lean principles, keen to code and perform research and development into new technologies
  • Experience developing architectural solutions for customer facing systems (Desirable)
