As a Senior Software Engineer at Compare the Market (CTM) you will contribute within the Open Banking team to deliver first class solutions on our website and App and be part of an evolving culture of innovation, enthusiasm and passion.  

Working in the Open Banking team, you will help to deliver solutions that empower people to make better financial decisions and save money. You will help contribute to a major part of CTM’s strategy going forward, helping to ‘Make Life Simples!’ for our customers.

Who are you?

  • Experienced in a functional programming language, ideally Elixir 

  • Interested in working with different tech stacks. 

  • Have had exposure to deploying applications into cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.) 

  • Keen to test first, deploy often and pair 

  • Interested in distributed systems and writing resilient software 

  • Hold yourself to a high standard of coding  

  • Naturally consider performance, availability, monitoring, alerting and frequent deployments that put customers first 

  • An active learner, with a passion for keeping up to date with emerging technologies, and able to pick up new concepts fast 

  • Aren’t afraid to admit failure and learn from it 

Bonus points if you have experience...

  • Working with other technologies in our current tech stack – Elm, AWS, Terraform and .NET 

  • Working in finance / Open Banking 

  • Developing authorisation flows / working with authentication tokens 

  • Working with microservices 

  • Using cloud-based technologies such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform 

  • Working with TDD/BDD 

What you will be doing:

  • Developing and maintaining the Open Banking capability within CTM 

  • Design and implement creative solutions to solve interesting technical problems 

  • Improving existing functionality and help shape the future of the platform 

  • Contribute to agile ceremonies and product planning 

  • Working with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of product, UX, mobile and backend
