What’s the challenge?

We have an exciting opportunity to join us at as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) in our Data Engineering team.

At CTM our Data Engineering team is at the heart of everything that we do. The team manages and works on multiple streams and projects that have high impact and importance for the business. This role will sit within our Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) team that focusses on the migration of the existing data serving to our marketing platform from Redpoint to Salesforce and introducing Near Real Time streaming for Salesforce using Kafka and Kafka Streams. As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), you will drive and lead the technical direction of automation testing, collaborate with key internal stakeholders and have a good focus on Data Quality and establish best practice in our testing automated processes to support it to a high level.

You’ll make a real impact by taking an active role in the team’s Agile practices, technical decision making and development, generating value and continuously striving to improve the quality and reliability of our data.

What will it take to be successful as a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)?

  • Strong knowledge of testing best practices
  • Strong experience writing automated tests using JUnit, Mockito, Cucumber, AssertJ, OKHTTP3
  • Experience of Java programming
  • Good knowledge of CI and CD practices, ideally with a relevant technology (Jenkins, GoCD)
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Data Engineering practices
  • Experience of Agile practices
  • AWS experience
  • Experience working with Kubernetes and Docker based testing
