What's the challenge?

We're looking for a customer-first, data-driven product manager to join our team, to ensure the team delivers exceptional experiences that benefit both customers and the business (with the appropriate resource and investment). You’ll ensure the team explores problem spaces, compare solution suitability, and iteratively move towards an identified outcome.

As a Senior Product Manager, you’ll be involved directly in all the activities required to go from strategy, through ideation to delivery. This means owning the vision, managing the backlog, writing user stories, working with technical members of the team, and being directly exposed to customers, with research, prototyping, experimentation, data analysis and testing.

As you make progress through your roadmap, and learn what is working, you’ll be setting the direction for both how we optimise our core experience and how we set our product teams up for success strategically for future years.

The characteristics that will help you succeed in this product management role are:

  • Being customer obsessed: You will have proven capability in making evidence-based decisions putting the customer first. You’ll also be super curious about our customers while exploring and uncovering new ways to solve their problems.
  • Being a master storyteller: You’ll need to drive alignment through teams and ensure all teams have the appropriate context to make good decisions. You’ll also need to communicate your vision and progress to senior stakeholders across the business to help build the trust and confidence that empowers teams.
  • Being relationship focussed: You’ll need to work with a lot of other teams in a constructive way that accelerates progress to achieving the product’s goals. There is often emotional complexity around ownership that needs navigating and aligning through focussing on outcomes and the vision.
  • Being a level switching master: You’ll need to be relentlessly strategic, to narrow focus so we’re investing in the right things, while also being into the details in optimisation and analysis so you know exactly what’s going on.
  • Being nurturing: You’ll want to get the best out of your engineering team, and the teams around you. You’ll only do this by supporting them and continually setting them up for success. One of the ways this will manifest is continually closing the gap between our engineers and their customers as we believe that is the best way to innovate.
  • Being a champion: You’ll need to be able to engage a wide audience internally and get them excited and supportive of the work you’re doing. You’ll need to sell your vision and continually work to build trust and keep alignment with the broader strategy and other teams.
  • Being a change maker: We’re changing the way we’re doing things and you’ll be a key part of this with high emotional intelligence to build trust across teams
