We are currently looking for an inspirational and passionate Senior Manager to join the Software Engineering leadership team and help manage our function; innovating to identify development opportunities, promote an environment of high trust and responsibility, and help the teams remain aligned with the business.


The role

As the Senior Manager– Software Engineering you’ll focus on building high performing, motivated and capable teams through high trust relationships.  A key part of your role is to bring together architects, technical leads and engineers onto a single path by translating the architectural road-map into clearly defined deliverables. You’ll create an environment where everyone feels able to contribute and have ownership for their development and ensure customers are able to compare and buy with ever decreasing IT friction. You’ll contribute to the team’s evolving culture of experience, innovation, enthusiasm and passion and also play a key role in the delivery of business value through a constant and rapid flow of stable software. You’ll ensure development and delivery is of the highest quality.


What will it take?

As a highly skilled, professional and confident Senior Manager you’ll have a flair for leadership of technical and diverse teams coupled with a genuine passion for software development at pace and scale. You’ll be an experienced agile leader and will build trust through transparency and authenticity.  Working closely with product based teams in London and Peterborough you’ll model and embed a culture where we go the extra mile to find simple practices and patterns in seemingly complex environments.

 When we meet you’ll be able to demonstrate your experience and strengths in:

·        Substantial experience managing technical teams in a similar high transactional e-commerce environment

·        Working with other function leads to provide cross functional orchestrated leadership

·        developing and building learning interventions that harness internal knowledge and support career progression

·        Commitment to quality of code and delivery; supporting the notion with the business that quality cannot be compromised for time
