Senior Manager – Compliance Operations


BGL’s Group Compliance team have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Manager to join their team to oversee our Compliance Operations. This role will be part of a class leading Group Compliance Team focussing on the relationship with the FCA, managing briefings for senior management, and supporting the analysis of regulatory change and providing expert advice to stakeholders across the business. As a Senior Manager within BGL’s Group Compliance team you will be responsible for the management of the regulatory tracker and will provide full FCA Firm Engagement oversight. As a member of the Compliance Leadership Team, you will support with Horizon Scanning and regulatory change implementation throughout the group. The business will look to you for technical guidance and advice when it comes the collation and production of materials for briefings on all FCA meetings. Your input into these will prove invaluable to the business and will ensure that senior stakeholders feel comfortable and prepared for all compliance led decision making conversations.

Knowledge of FCA is crucial to this role as current hot topics within BGL will include the GI Market Study, Vulnerable Customers, Cyber Resilience and value in the GI Distribution chain. You will take ownership of the comprehensive tracking of all requests requiring a regulatory response and you will need to manage group wide stakeholder contributions up to and including Board members. Building strong relationships within BGL will therefore place a vital part of your success in role as many will look to as a trusted advisor. Within this peer group you will need to influence and grow within a highly collaborative and transparent environment.  


As a Senior Manager within Compliance Operations you will be part of a highly skilled and experienced team delivering best in class Compliance advice and oversight to a highly successful and varied range of group companies. You will be responsible for oversight of the operation of SMCR processes including new applications and amendments to the framework. Working alongside the Group Compliance Director you will help shape the focus of BGL’s Compliance future direction and act as a role model for junior members within the team who can lean on you where needed for training, support and guidance on difficult issues. There will also be support provided for formal training and development for yourself in role.
