As Senior Manager Direct Marketing you will develop and implement the offline media strategy for BGL Life, with specific ownership for the delivery and success of our main channel, Direct Response TV (DRTV) and particular responsibility for delivering or exceeding our sales and Net Income targets within target CPA.

With our portfolio of brands growing you will own the marketing plan and reforecasts for Direct channels, ensuring clear communication to drive trading performance. You will be instrumental in defining the way that we market to our customers and the maximisation of direct marketing effectiveness, from media and competitor insight to managing our TV delivery.Day to day you’ll manage execution in all Direct channels campaigns (in particular DRTV), monitoring budgets and agency performance so ensuring that results are maximised within CPA targets. A strong relationship builder you will work closely with the Brand & Comms Manager, digital marketing team and the wider business, to develop a communication plan that will support media strategy to ensure commercial delivery in your channels.

What will you be responsible for as a Senior Direct Marketing Manager?Reporting to the Marketing Director you will provide subject matter expertise across all of our direct marketing channels, helping to deliver maximum value from our marketing spend - in particular for DRTV investment.

-          Delivery of growth through the maximisation of direct marketing effectiveness and media/competitor insight, securing best in class media value

-          Acquisition of new business within target marketing costs (CPA, RoM)

-          Ownership of budgets, including tracking spend and developing forecasts and reforecasts

-          Ownership of sales attribution approach and return on DRTV spend

-          Management of agency relationship to ensure maximum delivery is achieved, and ownership of agency remuneration models, ensuring they are appropriate to meet the needs of the business

-          Delivery of all marketing activity in line with all compliance and financial regulatory requirements

-          Management of the team to deliver marketing effectiveness and volume plans, whilst ensuring they are all highly motivated, developed well and performing with maximum effectiveness

-          Support for the development of integrated marketing communications

-          Develop new direct channels as opportunities emerge, and support development of partnerships with direct marketing expertise as required

What will it take to be successful?

-          A passion to deliver your sales and commercial targets, to understand in detail how your campaigns are performing and to maximise value at every point of your comapgns

-          Strong analytical and commercial skills, with an ability to translate complex information into high level messaging

-          Previous experience managing direct response marketing in a large scale B2C environment, with specific knowledge of DRTV campaign management

-          Great interpersonal skills along with the ability to building strong working relationships and a talent for spotting development opportunities for direct reports

-          Proven ability to gain maximum value from agency relationships

-          Strong organisation, prioritisation and time management skills in order to deliver great success in this role
