In the role of a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) you will be responsible for database operations and continuous improvement, to provide expert advice and guidance on database management good practice. Driving operational excellence to ensure systems remain highly available, reliable and resilient.
You will be acting as a leader/mentor in your community practice, influencing the technical direction for the team. Your role model behavior will ensure that CtM is seen as a team that encourages technical excellence. As a Senior Database Administrator, you will demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience in your field and be able to share this with others to drive delivery of team objectives through to completion.
You will challenge accepted standards and the way we work, with a view to always improving performance and data quality. You will actively develop yourself in your technical and professional area of expertise, whilst demonstrating the ability to work in an agile environment, supporting engineering teams to increase Speed to Market.
As the Senior Database Administrator, you will have the opportunity to build good relationships with key stakeholders and work closely with other DBA’s, adding value by providing 1st class support to our development teams and exploiting technologies to deliver value. Whilst also, contributing to the wider CtM team to ensure delivery of team objectives, providing expert advice for AWS Redshift/SQL Server. You will approach everything from the prospective of the customer and work proactively and reactively to maintain stable, scalable and secure systems so that great outcomes for our customers can be delivered.
What will it take to be successful as Senior Database Administrator? Essential:
- Experience as AWS Redshift DBA
- Experience as SQL Server DBA
- Performance Monitoring and Tuning, back-up and restore strategies, replication techniques
- Operational support, upgrades, patching, general trouble shooting
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
