As a Research Analyst at comparethemarket.com, you’ll deliver market and customer insights to help shape the future of our products and services.
Our Data Insights team at comparethemarket.com is expanding. You will be working with and reporting in to our Research Manager and as a small team of 2 – as part of a wider Research and Analytics team - your role will be vital in our success. You’ll enjoy working with a wide range of stakeholders; including Marketing, Product and Commercial Finance. You will have the opportunity to be involved in strategy development and shape our business with your recommendations.
In this role you will deliver and maintain external benchmarking of all products in order to help the business understand its position in the price comparison market and its relative performance to key competitors. You will use a combination of primary quantitative research and desk-side research to build and maintain market performance reporting for all of our products. You will monitor competitor performance and identify new opportunities for growth. Communication, collaboration and influencing will be vital to your role, you will share customer and market insight with the wider business and make recommendations on possible actions in response to the insight. We have a goal to become number 1 in all of the markets that we are present in and the insights you produce will be integral to ensuring the correct decisions are made in order to help us achieve that goal.
What will it take to be successful as a Research Analyst?
• You’ll have outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills
• You’ll have the ability to translate data and statistics into actionable insight
• You’ll have some experience of collecting, cleansing and analysing third party data
• You’ll have some experience of collecting data via primary research (interviews, surveys and questionnaires)
• You’ll be comfortable with analysing and visualising large datasets
• You’ll have excellent communication and presentation skills
• You’ll be able to identify business objectives to be fulfilled through the research process
• Preferably a Member or Certified Member of Market Research Society but not essential
• Experience of using SQL would be advantageous but not essential
