Do you enjoy building models and using statistics to solve problems?

This is an exciting time for a Pricing Analyst to join the BGL Life Pricing Team.  As part of this excellent opportunity, you’ll have the ability to provide insight, analysis and pricing models which will enable the business to make informed decisions.

You’ll be part of BGL Life’s ‘Knowledge Expert’ and support the team, creating pricing proposals that enable the business to achieve its strategic goals. You will build and deliver statistical pricing models using (e.g.) Generalised Linear Models (GLM), Gradient Boosting Machines (GBM) and other machine learning approaches, in addition to segmentation and stochastic analysis. You will build the most advanced pricing models in Life Insurance, and generate valuable, actionable business insight.

You’ll establish strong working relationships with our internal stakeholders working across the business and convey complex business proposals to them in a tailored manner.

You’ll use your excellent data handling skills to produce high quality pieces of analysis, which provide accurate insight into a range of areas, and use your analytical skills to provide creative solutions to business challenges.

What Will It Take?

  • You will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Proficient with a range of software packages (e.g. R, Python, SQL or other similar packages), in addition to Excel, and other Office applications. 
  • The tenacity to push boundaries and wanting to deliver exceptional commercial outcomes
  • Forward thinking, self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise workload and meet tight deadlines.
  • You’ll also bring excellent communication skills and will be able to convey complex business problems to stakeholders.
