BGL’s HR department have a fantastic new opportunity for a full time, permanent Personal Assistant (PA) to join their team, supporting two Associate HR Directors. Working across multiple tasks and activities this position offers a varied and exciting job opportunity, building strong relationships across the business to ensure the smooth running of the HR department.


As a PA, you will operate as a lynchpin within the HR function, balancing a sometimes sensitive, confidential and busy workload whilst staying connected with the function’s leadership team. You will work with senior stakeholders across the BGL Group to ensure tasks are dealt with swiftly and efficiently, displaying the ability to relate and communicate with people across the organisation. . There may be times when you will need to work alongside other departmental PAs during peak periods of the year therefore you will need to be both flexible and quick to adapt to new stakeholders.


One of the biggest skills needed to perform this role will be the ability to multi-task and work under pressure. You will ensure commitments, papers and travel arrangements are managed effectively, promoting an efficient working environment. You will organise off site conferences, team building days, and many other ad hoc events within your daily role.

Diary management is key within this role and you will be overseeing and managing 2 separate email inboxes, flagging important tasks whilst responding and dealing with other requests. This role will also need you to think ahead of time, planning and preparing for future events and generally working in a proactive manner to ensure that you are able to supply information on all planned activities ahead of time. PowerPoint decks and complex spreadsheet are used to display critical information at meetings and committees. There will therefore be the expectation that you will be able to create visually compelling and corporate PowerPoint decks to a high standard which will be used often to present to the Group Executive Committee.


Although previous PA experience is desirable this role would also suit someone who has a desire to start a career within HR. If you’ve started a CIPD or have a relevant qualification within HR (e.g. Graduate) then this position would give the perfect springboard into a long-term career within Human Resources.

What will it take?
  • Must be highly organised with the ability to work under pressure
  • Need to have a proactive attitude to work, looking at future workloads to plan accordingly
  • Must be technology minded and have strong PowerPoint skills as well as advanced Excel skills A strong communicator, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Previous experience working as a PA (advantageous)
