BGL Group have an exciting new opportunity for a full-time Events Manager to join our Peterborough head office. Working in a close-knit team this position offers you the chance to research, plan and deliver a number of key events throughout the year.

As an Events Manager you will organise group wide events which will embed the Group’s strategy and core values. You will take ownership and project manage key annual events, ensuring that they are delivered on time and within budget. 

Focusing on internal events, this is a broad pivotal role managing an exciting range of events from small dinners and offsites, to conferences and family fun days for 6,000 people. 

A large proportion of BGL’s event management will include collaboration with key business stakeholders to identify specific requirements which will help define a brief for each event. You will also manage a network of suppliers, negotiating and sourcing additional resource, support and expertise as required. 

You will identify and implement mechanisms to measure the success of events which will feed into the future building of new event proposals. Due to the specific requirements of each business unit, proposals will often need reassessing on a regular basis to ensure business stakeholders are happy that their event has the WOW factor.

No two days are the same; this is a fast-paced role where there is a need to manage multiple events concurrently whilst managing stakeholder relationships. Projects are planned to tight deadlines where prioritisation of duties will be key.  

What will it take?
This is an important role and requires an experienced and confident events candidate - with proven event delivery experience across a range of events. We’re looking for someone with excellent communication skills, dedication and reliability.
Due to the nature of this role it’s vital the right candidate thrives with a busy and varied workload, can prioritise, and is a great team player. 

We are happy to consider candidates who are at a Senior Events Executive level and looking for a progressive role which will eventually lead into an Events Managers position. Key skills will include:

• Minimum of 5 years event management experience (essential)
• Extensive knowledge of event planning processes 
• Excellent relationship management skills
• Excellent communications skills – both written and verbal
• Strong organisation skills, resilience, project management and planning abilities
• Leadership and influencing skills (desirable)
• Experience of working both in an agency and client-side (desirable)
