What’s the challenge?

Our enterprise architecture function continues to grow and adapt to support a business that has developed from a handful of employees to over 500 during the past few years and are now looking at adding a high calibre Enterprise Information Architect who is a subject matter expert in the field of data and information architecture and every new person who joins the team gets to shape and influence the ongoing development of our function.

We are now searching for an experienced Enterprise Information Architect who will help define the information landscape of comparethemarket.com and drive the data and information strategy across the business. This role is critical in the development of the next generation of customer focused services and propositions that will rely on high quality data and analytical insight whilst ensuring that it is fit for purpose and managed through the information lifecycle.

Combining your expertise with exceptional stakeholder management through the architecture, technology, data governance and wider business teams will be critical in driving through the principles and standards that will transform the information landscape and build the platform that delivers our next customer outcomes.

Engaging with teams that make quick decisions and operate at pace will stimulate you, and you’ll be comfortable enabling them to deliver outcomes, whilst always having a view on the security, scalability and governance of our customers’ information.

What will it take to be successful as an Enterprise Information Architect?

As an experienced Enterprise Information Architect, you will have a strong data and information background, ideally with the ability to express your ideas with clarity, confidence and logical reasoning.

To make a real impact in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Responsibility for the information architecture and strategy for the organisation that ensures our business fully understand and trust the data assets at their disposal
  • Accountable for the development and adoption of information architecture principles and processes (such as catalogues, dashboards, ontologies, schedules, taxonomies, terminologies and lineage of data) ensuring they are aligned to the business and technology strategy as well as governance, regulatory and security requirements, to ensure the organisation can become driven by data
  • Responsible for the co-ordination and assessment of new and emerging technologies and developments in information architecture standards, helping develop the Business Capability and Technical Reference Models and promoting awareness across the business
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to help create and form the business strategy and leadership in the development and qualification of investment plans and long-term business cases
  • Own and manage risks and risk controls in line with the risk appetite of the business
Key Skills
  • Experience of delivering Information Architectures across complex landscapes in a fast moving and agile organisation (Essential)
  • Working with a range of BI & analytics architectures including traditional data warehousing, data lakes and emerging machine learning and AI capabilities (Essential)
  • Business leadership with the ability to collaborate across technology, commercial and marketing teams with strong influencing, innovation, communication and facilitation skills (Desirable)
  • Domain knowledge of insurance and finance (Desirable)
  • Experience of streaming and event driven architectures (Desirable)
