Positively impacting lives through the BGL Make a Difference Fund

BGL is committed to positively impacting 250,000 lives and donating £3 million to good causes by 2020.

As part of our Community programme we have launched the BGL Make a Difference Fund, an additional £160,000 funding pot distributed between our five key sites in Sunderland, Wakefield, Peterborough, London and Paris.

All five sites have selected a partner charity to support with Make a Difference funding and volunteering for a key project or initiative to be delivered over the next two years.

Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice

Sue Ryder provides compassionate hospice and neurological care to people and their families. BGL’s funding will go towards the cost of appointing a clinical educator who will ensure every member of staff at the hospice, volunteers and those working with people at the end of their lives in other settings have up-to-date knowledge and skills to enable them to provide the best care.

The role is instrumental in developing the hospice workforce and will make a significant contribution to the development of the wider healthcare workforce in the region.
