Hi I’m Philippa. I’m originally from Cornwall and I went to the University of Nottingham to study German. As part of my degree I lived in Munich for a year, working in the retail industry in Strategic Marketing Communication and Consumer Insights. I loved it, and it’s how I discovered that a marketing graduate programme would be right for me. I wanted to experience a diverse range of marketing techniques and functions, and I found that the rotational BGL scheme is designed to give you exactly that.
As a company BGL stands out because personal development is seen as a priority and there is a genuine commitment to CSR activity, where everyone has the opportunity to get actively involved. Our grad cohort is already planning our first team fundraising events for the Prince’s Trust.
From a marketing perspective I thought there would be no better place to develop than with colleagues who are obviously invested in doing things differently, building around disrupting the industry for the customer’s benefit. I’ve seen this clearly in my first rotation at comparethemarket.com in the product team, helping to make sure that we are always developing and delivering the best, most customer-focused experience.
