Prior to joining BGL, I studied English with a Minor in Business Studies at Loughborough University for three years. During this time, I completed the Loughborough Employability Award, was a member of the Students’ Union Welfare and Diversity committee, and volunteered at a local school where I read with children on a weekly basis. I had little experience studying and working in the field of Marketing, but knew that I wanted a career where I could think creatively and divergently for innovative brands.
So far, the marketing graduate scheme has proved both exciting and challenging! My first rotation has included working on a variety of events, such as the Senior Management Conference, as well as CSR projects and internal communications and engagement campaigns. One of the highlights of working in the Internal Communications, Events & CSR team, is the amount of exposure and networking opportunities I have had – I’ve been lucky to meet many of BGL’s Senior Managers and Directors, as well as members of the Executive Board.
Aside from living in Loughborough during my time at university, I have lived in Peterborough for over 15 years! I enjoy spending time with my family and dog, socialising with friends and holidaying. I’m an utter foodie and love eating out with friends, especially when trying new bars and restaurants in the area. A little known fact about me – I’m the youngest graduate in this year’s cohort, having completed the assessment centre aged 20 and starting at BGL a month after turning 21!
