I've become part of an amazing digital marketing team
At the time of applying for the BGL Academy Scheme I was still in Sixth Form, studying towards my A-Levels in double BTEC IT and A-Level Applied IT. Throughout my early school years I’d enjoyed studying different elements of computer sciences, so further education in IT made sense. Alongside my study I was working, part time, for a well-known high street retailer as a sales assistant.

I knew I didn’t want to go to university and I didn’t want to take make my part-time role full-time, so I started to look into apprenticeship schemes.

When I discovered BGL's Apprenticeship scheme I knew straight away that this was an opportunity I wanted to pursue. BGL offered both tech and digital apprenticeships and, after much deliberation, I chose to begin a career in digital.

The application process was amazing, I gained such a good understanding of what life is like at BGL and met the people I was going to be working with. I underwent a couple of telephone interviews, giving me the opportunity to discuss available roles and helping me decide a career in digital was definitely the way to go. I was invited to visit the BGL Head Office and spoke to some of the existing apprentices and graduates helping me gain a better understanding of working at BGL.

Since joining the digital scheme I’ve been involved in a variety of digital marketing projects, gaining skills in SEO, PPC and social media. I’ve redesigned an internal website portal and become part of an amazing team. I love the atmosphere here.
