Fusion's Football Frenzy in aid of the NSPCC

Fusion boosts charity by more than £1,200

Immediate release: 30 May 2008

Fusion's Football Frenzy bought out the wannabee footballers in Zaid Mahmood (left) and Footballer's WAG Toni Miller!Employees of Fusion Contact Centre Services have been entering into the spirit of May Madness with a Fun Football Frenzy raising in excess of £1,200 for the NSPCC.

The NSPCC is this year's corporate charity nominated by the call centre operation Fusion and its parent company, the BGL Group, which is one of the UK's largest insurance intermediaries.

Fusion has four sites in the UK – Bretton in Peterborough, Coventry, Peterlee and Sunderland in the north east. Colleagues in Peterborough raised the most of all the sites with proceeds of £477 alone.

Colleagues donated a pound for the privilege of dressing down for the day - again in the theme of Football - either as supporters or WAGS! They also dressed their office areas in FA Cup memorabilia and colours of the finalists' football team strips - Portsmouth and Cardiff.

There was a whole host of activities throughout the day including guess the number of football chocolates in the jar, spot the ball, a Football Quiz, a sweepstake, a raffle bric-a-brac, cake and tombola stalls. A charity car wash and a FIFA tournament on the Playstation in Peterborough added to the fun. Colleagues were even able to test out their football skills with games of Keepy Uppy, and to demonstrate their goal celebration moves using a dance mat!

Head of Site Nicholas Macarte said: "Yet again employees proved they are real champions when it comes to fundraising. At Fusion we have a culture where everyone gets involved and colleagues really entered into the spirit of things on the Football-themed Buzz Day. They went Football crazy - there was a great atmosphere and a huge amount was raised to provide a well-deserved boost to the group’s chosen corporate charity – the NSPCC. We are very proud of them."
