Fusion Managers Create Festive Fun For The Elderly
Immediate release: 18 December 2008
Big-hearted colleagues at Fusion Peterlee are creating some festive fun for the elderly this Christmas.
The management team, lead by HR Officer Jo Burey, have put up Christmas decorations at the Age Concern Tea Room in Easington Colliery, where the elderly meet up for art classes and general socialising.
And, on Thursday (December 18) Jo and her volunteers spent the morning at the Tea Rooms serving tea and mince pies to the elderly visitors as they popped in to see their friends. They also donated prizes for their Christmas raffle.
HR Officer Jo Burey said: "Christmas is a time for giving and can so often be a lonely time for the elderly who may not have their partners and family around them. We thought it would be a nice gesture to bring some festive cheer to them at this time of year. We really enjoyed doing it for them too."
