Contact Centre Staff Donate to Local Causes

Staff at Fusion Contact Centre in Bretton, Peterborough have generously donated £1,200 to local causes this summer.

The £1,200 was divided amongst five very different causes nominated by employees. The recipients of the donations included:

  • Baston F.C, a youth football team, were given £250 to help with the purchase of new equipment.
  • Phoenix School, which caters for children with profound learning, behavioural or physical difficulties, was allocated £300 for the purchase of sports equipment for its pupils.
  • The charity Peterborough & Fenland Mind, which offers support to those with mental health issues, received £200 to provide activities and trips for its members.
  • When valuable camping equipment was cruelly stolen from the Paston Scouts, they were given £200 to replace the missing items.
  • Finally, the Orton Longueville Playgroup was presented with £250 to assist with the cost of redecorating the garden area of their playground.

The contributions were made by the Fusion "Give Committee", which consists of representatives from various departments within Fusion. The committee has a monthly allocation to award to local charities, causes or events, to help support and develop the local community.

Head of Site, Nick Macarte said, "We are delighted to be able to give this support. It is important that our employees, who live in the local areas, have a say in the good causes we contribute to in the community."

Jayne Vernum, a member of the fundraising body for The Phoenix School, a recipient of a donation, explains what the money means to them, "Equipment for the school is very expensive, so we are grateful for donations in any shape or form that will enhance the lives of the pupils. Thanks to Fusion we are able to provide the children with much needed football equipment."

Fusion contact centres handle sales and customer service calls for Budget and Dial, Bennetts motorcycle insurance and top high street brands such as the Post Office, Marks & Spencer and Bradford & Bingley.
