Celebrations for Sunderland Fusion Contact Centre Services At Business Awards

Immediate release: 24 October 2008

Customer Services Team Mentor Rebecca Brown came runner-up in the Employee of the Year category of the Sunderland Echo Portfolio Business Awards 2008.

The award was won by Tom Barraclough, of Thompson Building Centres, but because of the exceptional standard of entries this year the judges made the unusual decision of awarding two runners-up - one to Rebecca and one to Lesley Bell, from Barclays.

The judges said: "In an industry which is all about customer service, these two nominees stand out as going that bit further to ensure the person on the other end of the line gets looked after properly."

Head of Site Jason Turner said: "As part of our ongoing ethos of catching people doing it right, I was delighted to hear of the passion and dedication of Rebecca Brown in Customer Services and her performance and behaviour impressed the management team so much that we nominated her for the Employee of the Year.

"The competition was fierce but it gives me great pleasure to announce that she came a fantastic runner-up. This is a great achievement and well deserved."

Rebecca attended the event with her mum Diane and a number of representatives from the management team. Next month (November) Rebecca and the Fusion teams from Sunderland and Peterlee will be anxiously awaiting the results of the North East Contact Centre Awards, for which they have submitted a number of entries.
