BGL Group Raises £1,100 for Comic Relief

Immediate release: 17 March 2009

BGL Group employees at the company's offices in Orton Southgate and Lynch Wood did 'Something Funny For Money' on Friday and raised more than £1000 for Red Nose Day.

Activities across the company included a Comedy Quiz, a Generation-Game style cake decorating contest for Directors, a caption competition, chocolate fountain, cake stalls, treasure hunt and raffle. Most employees wore something red to work in exchange for a donation, but one team could be seen in pyjamas and dressing gowns for the day, while another wore an impressive selection of hats!

A spokesperson for the BGL Group said: "We're a very charity-minded company and regularly raise money for good causes. Everybody really enjoyed getting behind Red Nose Day and we're proud to have raised more than £1000. Our company values include 'Just be Someone who Makes a Difference' and 'Just be Happy' – and Friday gave us the perfect opportunity to do both!"

The BGL Group supports the NSPCC as its chosen national charity, and recently announced its commitment to support the Great Fen Project just south of Peterborough. In addition each office makes monthly donations to good causes in their communities.
