Promotions For Two Directors At BGL Group

BGL Group Limited (Peterborough) has announced the promotions to director of Tom Cooper, E-Commerce and Will Price, Product Development.
The Group (formerly the Budget Group of Companies) is the UK's largest privately-owned personal lines insurance intermediaries, and both the Product Development and E-Commerce functions have grown in size and significance. They are a key part of the Group's commercial and strategic agendas and will deliver some of the largest business opportunities as part of the Group's three year expansion plan.
Will began his career the BGL Group. From 1993 to 1995, he held a number of contact centre roles before moving to the claims function in 1996. During this time he completed his MBA. Following the formation of Budget Insurance Services in 1997, Will joined IT to develop and maintain Budget Insurance Services' underwriting engine and in 2004, he was asked to manage BGL Group's motor product and panel of insurers before assuming responsibility for the Group's Product Development function in 2005. Will has played a major role in developing strategic insurer relationships and evolving the Group's broking model.
Tom has 25 years' experience in financial services and joined BGL as part of the Dial Direct acquisition in 2001 in a senior Product Development role. With significant household and commercial vehicle insurance expertise under his belt, in 2005 he was asked to run the Group's evolving E-Commerce function. Since then, Tom has successfully overseen a 14-fold increase in new business sales from the online channel, ensuring the BGL Group has grown to be an even bigger player in a personal lines insurance market where Internet capability is critical.
Both Will and Tom were previously Associate Directors and are based at the headquarters in Orton Southgate, Peterborough.
Group Chief Executive Peter Winslow announced the promotions to managers attending the Group's Quarterly Communications Forum in Peterborough. He said: "The E-Commerce and Product Development functions are an integral part of our business and will continue to play a major role in BGL's strategic growth. Will and Tom's promotions to director are testament to the excellent results they and their teams have achieved to date."
