Fusion Celebrates Fourth Birthday

Staff at Fusion Contact Centre Services, part of the BGL Group, are today celebrating their fourth anniversary. Fusion in Sunderland opened its doors in 2002 with 50 staff and has grown five-fold to over 250, with plans to keep expanding in 2007.

To celebrate the business has ordered an impressive “3 foot” birthday cake for all staff to enjoy. The staff also held a charity day on Wednesday 13th December to raise funds for Oakleigh Gardens school in order to purchase a new mini bus with wheelchair access. A cheque for £XXX will be presented to the school on the day.

The local ‘Give’ committee is additionally responsible for making donations on behalf of the company to local charities and causes, based on requests from staff and representatives in the local community. Each month donations of £400 are made to deserving causes in the Sunderland area chosen by ‘Give’ committee representatives at Fusion’s local office.

Fusion is based at the Sunderland Enterprise Park and handles sales and customer services calls for some of the biggest brands in the country such as Marks & Spencer, Bradford and Bingley and the Post Office.

Barbara Porritt, Head of Site for Fusion in Sunderland, commented: “We are very proud to be celebrating our fourth birthday. The last year has been phenomenal with a typical month seeing 166,000 calls being handled. The contact centre is a really vibrant place and that is down to the excellent quality of our people, and with growth plans forecast we are busy recruiting more of the same calibre of individuals.”

Fusion is part of the BGL Group and following recent business growth is actively recruiting for further customer services and sales advisors, with both part-time and full-time opportunities on offer.
