Budget Opens New Contact Centre To Support Own Brand And Partner Growth Plans

Immediate release: 20 February 2007

The BGL Group (the Group), one of the UK’s largest personal lines intermediaries, has opened an additional contact centre in Peterlee to support its ambitious growth plans and service its affinity partners which include the Post Office, Bradford & Bingley and Marks & Spencer Money. The expansion means 600 new jobs will be created in the Peterlee area over the next three years.

The Group’s own brand and affinity divisions have experienced significant growth in recent years, and now manage some 1.75 million home, motor and motorbike policies.

Phil Zeidler, managing director, of the affinity division, Junction said, “Between our current and new partners we aim to double the number of policies under management in the next year, and expansion of our call centres is key to meeting this growth target. Our staff are an essential part of our offering and we invest heavily in each individual’s training and development, ensuring all advisors are equipped with the excellent service skills our partners expect.”

The Group’s first contact centre, close to its head office in Peterborough, recently underwent a refurbishment in 2006 enhancing both the environment and technology systems. Whilst at the Coventry operation the Group has further plans to move to a larger new site in autumn 2007.

Overseas, in Cape Town, the Group is moving to new state-of-the-art, custom built offices allowing for growth of 250% over the next two years.

Peter Winslow, chief executive, of the BGL Group added, “Ensuring the quality of the customer journey is key to growing and retaining business. The BGL Group has enjoyed significant year-on-year growth and we have ambitious, yet achievable plans for our future. Our contact centre expansion plans will enable us to deliver against this without compromise, whilst maintaining quality of service for both the Budget and partner brands.”
