BGL Group Summer Fun Day 2009

Almost 2,000 people enjoyed a free Family Fun Day at Wittering Grange near Peterborough on Sunday (July 26th), hosted by the Peterborough-based BGL Group - one of the UK's largest personal lines insurance intermediaries.

The revellers included family and friends of employees of the BGL Group's head office and IT headquarters in Peterborough and Fusion Contact Centres in Bretton and Coventry.

All employees were invited to bring up to five guests to the action-packed event which catered for all ages, with a complimentary barbecue, drinks and as much popcorn, sweets and ice cream as they could manage!.

They enjoyed a whole host of entertainments including fairground rides, archery, bouncy castle, clairvoyants, bungee trampolines, a pamper tent, crazy golf and side stalls, not to mention fantastic live music through the decades from The Right Stuff band.

Fusion Summer Fun Day 2009

Employees from Fusion Contact Centre Services in Sunderland and Peterlee were treated to a Family Fun Day for themselves, their families and friends at The Stadium of Light, Sunderland – home to Sunderland Football Club – on Saturday (July 4).

All employees were invited to bring up to five guests to the action-packed event which catered for all ages, with a complimentary barbecue, drinks and as much popcorn, sweets and ice cream as they could manage in the hot sunshine!

More than 500 people supported the event where they enjoyed a whole host of entertainments including the Bucking Bronco, high striker, bouncy castle and games such as Biff 'n' Bash and the Ball Pond. There was also a dedicated Kids Corner full of fun activities for the youngsters such as face painting and balloon modelling.

BGL Group Awards Ball 2008

In October 2008 1500 employees from the BGL Group attended their glittering Annual Awards Ball, and raised nearly £7,000 for charity.

Employees from the BGL Group's head office and IT department based in Peterborough, and its Fusion Contact Centre Services located in Coventry, Peterborough, Peterlee and Sunderland got dressed up in their most glamorous outfits and flocked to Birmingham's ICC for the exclusive black-tie event, designed to reward employees for their dedication and hard-work over the past year.

The theme for the event was 'Shining Stars', and those who had lived the Group's 'Just Be...' values over the past year, as nominated by their colleagues, were presented with an award by BGL Group Chief Executive, Peter Winslow. This was followed by a three course dinner and live entertainment from the Swann band specially flown in from France.

BGL Group Summer Fun Day 2008

The 2008 Summer Fun Day for employees and their families and friends was held at at Wittering Grange, Wansford, near Peterborough, on Sunday June 22.

All employees were invited to bring up to five guests to the action-packed event which catered for all ages, with complimentary food and drink and much more. More than 1,500 people supported the event where they were able to try their hand at a whole host of entertainments including clay-pigeon shooting, archery, 4x4 rides, crazy golf, bungee trampolines and the ever-popular fairground rides.

There was also an equestrian stunt display, a circus show and children's balloon entertainment, and other attractions including a treasure hunt, giant inflatables, games and other side stalls. Children were able to participate in a range of activities such as line dancing, story-telling around the camp fire, jewellery-making, creating and colouring cowboys and cowgirls hats, and painting and personalising saddlebags and rucksacks.

BGL Group Winter Fun Day 2007

In December 2007 almost 2,500 people banished the winter blues by taking part in the BGL Group's Fun Day at the East of England Showground.

The Winter Fun Day was created by the BGL Group as a seasonal treat for its employees, their family members and friends. The day included carol singing, ice skating and an ice show, a company ‘It’s a Knockout’ competition and a live dance show. Other attractions included Santa’s Grotto, a rodeo-style bucking reindeer, sleigh rides and market stalls selling traditional treats

The day combined fun and games with thoughts for the less fortunate. More than 200 Christmas presents were donated to disadvantaged local children. In addition, leftover food and drinks were given to a local charity for the homeless, the Peterborough Soup Kitchen.

BGL Annual Awards Ball 2007

Each year the BGL Group recognises and celebrates the success of individuals and teams at the Annual Awards Ball. The 2007 awards were held in a marquee at the Marriott Hotel, Peterborough, on Saturday 14 July 2007. Take a look at the pictures below to see what the event was like.

Comic Relief 2007

On Friday 13th March 2007 our Fusion Contact Centre handled 3,595 calls, which totalled £120,600 for Comic Relief, using volunteers from across all sites and all BGL Group areas. During the day various activities took place to raise money and have some fun. Employees raised a fantastic £2,259.22 across all sites.

Budget Fun Day 2006

Each year the BGL Group has a themed family fun day at each site. Over 2000 people attended our Peterborough Family Fun day at Thorpe Hall on the extremely hot day of Sunday 16 July 2006.

Many of our employees and families braved the bucking bronco, climbing wall, gladiator jousting, speed cage, even played football with our very own giant Beckham and if that wasn't enough, jumping sky high on the super jumpa.

Of course we cater for all tastes so for the more reserved, there was face painting, dancing to the live Salsa band Palenkae, drinking the delicious slush puppies, tucking into some food, watching the dog display team and the very flexible (!)
