Established in 1992, the BGL Group is now one of the UK’s largest personal lines insurance brokers. In the last five years we have achieved 50% organic compound growth and our strategic plan shows this accelerating dramatically.
We employ more than 2,255 people, with plans for this to grow by 50% by 2009, the Group is made up of six business divisions:
Frontline - whose core products are motor, home and commercial vehicle insurance, has featured numerous times in Which magazine’s Best Buys. Supplementary products include pet, travel and life insurance.
Bennetts – the market-leading brand for bike insurance. Bennetts is the title sponsor of both the World Superbike and British Superbike Championships, as well as personal sponsor of Moto GP rider James Toseland.
Junction – the affinity arm of the Group, launched in 2002 and providing outsourcing services for major UK financial services and retail brands including Post Office®, Marks & Spencer Money and yesinsurance.co.uk.
ACM ULR – providing claims and uninsured loss recovery services to all of the Group’s and our partners’ customers.
These divisions are supported by a number of key central functions – Audit, Legal & Compliance, Change Management, Finance, Product Development; HR, IT and Group Communications.
At BGL we are constantly looking for new commercial opportunities and emerging trends within the insurance arena. Our exponential growth of the last five years has resulted from many such initiatives, from outsourcing, to internet distribution, to a carbon neutral product recently launched – ibuyeco. All of our activities play to our strengths and we are in a unique position as a broker – we have an underwriting platform, which gives us enormous flexibility and scope for diversification.
